Program Overview 
The mission for MLU is to continually strive to be a place for children to learn to play soccer in a safe,fun environment for player, coach, and trainer development in the State of New Jersey.  With this in mind the opportunity to develop Jr. Trainers is important to promote the continuing development of young promising players as trainers and leaders in the club. The program will be open to young players within MLU at the minimum age of 17 years and older with the intention to introduce these players to strategies of coaching at the training level with the hopes of continuing their education and practical experience graduating them to full training positions within MLU. 

To enter into the program a potential Jr. Trainer will need the following
Contact and interview with a current MLU director.
Complete  the USSF "Grassroots Pathway", the USSF On-line National F License, or the United Soccer Coaches Foundations of Coaching course. (Documentation of completion will be provided to the MLU Director)
College aged players wishing to enter the program will need to provide a recommendation from their current Coach and NJ State Clearance. (Other documentation upon request)
High school aged players wishing to enter the program will need to provide a recommendation from their current MLU Club Coach and 1 teacher.

Jr. Trainers Role
Will work within the guidelines set forth by the MLU board of directors.
Will display readiness, positive attitude and enthusiasm, and will represent the club to the best of their ability at all times.
Will be open to coach’s feedback and suggestions.
Will help maintain a safe and positive environment for all players.
Will assist in all aspects of training.
Will be uniformed in MLU gear when training MLU players or when representing the club.
Will work toward continuing their education and continuing their tenure at MLU.
 Will work with MLU Youth Development /Recreational /Travel programs at the direction of the Technical Director.

Jr. Trainer Pay
Pay scale will be set by the MLU Technical Director.  Increases will be based on experience, evaluation, and licensing progression.  Dismissal from the program is at the discretion of the MLU board of directors.

Program Goal
This unique program’s focus on developing players to become coaches and leaders works not only to give our players opportunities other clubs do not provide but through their work and dedication gives back to MLU by helping to develop the next generation of quality players.  The skills acquired within the program will give our young athletes the confidence they need to help them grow and develop into leaders and role models in the community.
