Travel Uniforms and Equipment

MLU has developed relationships with its uniform and equipment suppliers that benefit the player, parent, coach, team  and club. These relationships provide the club with discounts on all of our apparel, support for our TOPS program, apparel for our coaches and trainers, and sponsorship of our annual tournament.  In order to maintain these relationships and maximize their benefit, MLU has implemented the following uniform policy.

New teams will receive an equipment bag, 6 size 4 balls, 12 pinnies, 25 cones, and a first aid kit.  This kit is the property of the Club.  Replacement equipment is the team's responsibility and should be replaced through the Director of Equipment.  Additional items, such as ice packs may be ordered from the Director of Equipment as well.

Each year, coaches will receive either a jersey or an outerwear item. This will alternate each year.

Travel Kit Info

  • All players on MLU travel teams are required to wear the official travel team kit
  • Additional adornment of the uniform, such as names, sponsorships, etc., is not permitted.
  • All players on MLU travel teams may optionally purchase accessories (Training Suit and Backpack) as defined by the MLU Board of Directors.
  • Kits and accessories must be purchased through the Director of Equipment.
  • When official travel team kit, as defined by the MLU Board of Directors, changes, all teams must change their uniform.
  • All MLU travel teams must designate a “uniform contact” to interface with the Director of Equipment. Only the team’s designated Uniform Contact is permitted to place orders.
  • MLU Uniform colors are maroon and white.
  • Alternate jerseys for summer/winter play, outside of Fall and Spring league seasons, must be approved by the Director of Equipment.
  • All additional apparel, including fan gear and training wear must be approved by the Director of Equipment.
  • The Uniform Contact is responsible for ensuring that the team is in compliance with the club’s uniform policy.
  • Kit and accessory donations made to a team, must comply with these rules.
  • Teams not in compliance will be fined $100 per player found in violation of this policy.
  •  Shin guards and cleats may be purchased at the retailer of the participants choosing.
  • Kits are replaced every two years.

Ordering dates and deadlines

Ordering deadlines have been established and are posted on the club’s website.
Orders Spring 2023 league play are due by February 9th, 2023

a)    Orders placed outside of these ordering windows are subject to penalties.

Equipment

a)    All equipment that has been issued to a team, remains the property of MLU.

b)    In the event of a coaching change, all equipment that has been issued to the team shall remain with the team.
c)    In the event of a team disbanding, all equipment that has been issued to the team shall be returned to the Director of Equipment. 

Game Day Ball purchase

Some teams have expressed interest in purchasing balls that better suit their particular needs.

With that in mind, teams should purchase a team game ball of their choosing.

MLU will cover $25 of the purchase price per seasonal year.  ( fall or spring , not both seasons in the same year) example fall 2019 for teams playing in the fall and spring or spring 2020 for spring play only teams )

You may submit a check request with receipt for your purchase up to $25.

 If you spend more on the purchase of a team game day ball you may add the balance on to the team dues, divided equally  for each team member.

How to order MLU Uniforms Accessories & Spiritwear

MLU's Uniform Distributor, ,provides an online store for ordering Travel Uniforms, Accessories and Spirit Wear. 

The ordering website for the Spring Season is now open through Ewing Sports.
To order uniform items & fanwear, go to mlusoccer.ewingsports.com.
To place an order, you will be prompted to Sign Up Or Sign In.
If you have placed an order through Ewing Sports in the past, you can Sign In using your existing log-in credentials.
If you are placing an order for the first time through Ewing Sports, you will need to Sign Up.
Simply follow the steps to Create An Account. 

Once you are signed in, all available MLU items will be accessible.
You will need to click +Customize Item to add your players number to their uniform items.
When you are ready to checkout, you will have the option to have your order shipped directly to you or to pick up at the Ewing Sports showroom.

A few of things to consider before ordering...

  1. White Kit Option:  The full white kit is an option for the entire team.  Your coach should have notified you as to whether or not your team is purchasing this option.
  2. Training kit:  Gray MLU T-shirts and black shorts are also available at the time of ordering.  We strongly recommend that all players wear the training kit when they take the field with an MLU trainer.
  3. All teams are encourage to order an extra kit.  This kit can be used in many situations such as a substitute jersey during a league game where someone gets blood on their jersey, a new player added to your team at the last minute, or a guest player.
  4. Where required, be sure to order the correct jersey number as prescribed by the team, to avoid duplicate numbers.

This uniform will be worn for TWO (2) years beginning in the Fall of odd numbered years (ex Fall 2019 - Spring 2021).
The Fall of 2020/Spring 2021 is the last year that this uniform will be worn.

New uniforms will be ordered for  Fall 2021/Spring 2022
