🏅 The Colleen Heon Scholarship Award 🏅
We are proud to announce this year’s recipient of the Colleen Heon Scholarship, awarded in recognition of outstanding achievements, character, and heartfelt contributions both on and off the soccer field. These recipients have played in the MLU program for 4-5 years and in the Lenape High School Soccer Program for all 4 years.

This scholarship honors players who not only excel in the sport, but also embody the values Colleen held dear: kindness, respect, and honesty—qualities that are deeply woven into their everyday lives. These players have shared how soccer has positively impacted their journeys, helping shape who they are and the way they treat others.
The Heon family has been a cherished part of MLU for over 70 years, and Colleen’s love for the game was unmatched. She wasn’t just a supporter—she was every player’s biggest cheerleader, lighting up the sidelines with her encouragement, laughter, and heart. Coach Bruce coached the MLU Gladiators (99-00) and MLU 2006 teams.
This award ensures her legacy continues to shine through the athletes who carry her spirit forward.

Who can apply?
2025 Graduate, who currently is enrolled at Lenape High School, participated Lenape Boys or Girls Soccer Program all 4 years and 5 years in the Mount Laurel Soccer United Organization
When is the deadline?
Seniors will need to apply by March 1, 2025
What information is needed?
Recipients will need to provide an essay about how soccer has impacted your life and how the importance of kindness, respect, and honesty are present in your everyday life. These core values were very important to Colleen.
The committee will be choosing recipients and each recipient will receive a $1000 scholarship.
