Mt. Laurel United is extremely proud to be New Jersey's 1st TOPSoccer program. US Youth Soccer TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a community-based training and team placement program for young athletes with disabilities, organized by Mt. Laurel United Soccer Association volunteers. The program is designed to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any boy or girl, who has a mental or physical disability. Our goal is to enable young, area athletes with disabilities to become valued and successful members of the US YOUTH SOCCER family. Children with special needs, ages 5 to 18, from all area townships, are invited to participate. Beginners welcome! The games are scheduled for Saturdays and a schedule will be posted as the season nears. MLU staff trainers run the TOPSoccer sessions and experienced soccer players as "buddies" for the disabled TOPSoccer participants, providing one - on - one support. Sessions may be canceled due to inclement weather. Please check your email on Friday evening (the evening before) in case of anticipated bad weather conditions.

Our Fall 2020 TOPSoccer season is a go!  (With a twist of course, because, it's 2020!)

There will be a few changes this year with our TOPSoccer season, complying with NJYS and our social distancing guidelines.  Please read and acknowledge the following changes prior to registering for the season.

1.  We will have a shortened season this year.  Our dates for TOPSoccer in Mount Laurel will be as follows:

Saturday, September 19th, 9:30 am to 10:30 am
Saturday, September 26th, 9:30 am to 10:30 am
Saturday, October      3rd,    9:30 am to 10:30 am
Saturday, October      17th, 9:30 am to 10:30 am
Saturday, October      24th, 9:30 am to 10:30 am

2.  All parents/guardians MUST have completed the online Buddy Training course prior to registration for this season.  We will not be having Buddies this season assisting players due to social distancing guidelines, therefore, parents/guardians/siblings will be their player's buddy.

3.  Each player and "buddy" must complete a "Pre Play Screening Questionnaire" EACH weekend prior to participation.  The questionnaire will be emailed each Monday and must be completed on FRIDAY prior to play.

4.  Players, parents, siblings and guardians MUST wear masks each week for play.  No exceptions.  Masks will be available for those who forget their mask at home.

5.  Players and parents must check in each week, players receive a name tag, and everyone must be temperature-screened prior to play.  The check-in is important to assist with providing up-to-date information for contact-tracing purposes if needed.

6.  "Play" will be a little different looking this year.  While we will still be on teams, we will be using this season to develop each player's individual soccer skills (dribbling, changing direction, kicking, passing, balance, using both feet, etc).  Each player and "buddy" will play in a grid under the direction of our coaches.  We will include games where we pass the ball to other players in the area, all while maintaining physical distance guidelines.

7.  While things may look a little different this year, please remember TOPSoccer is first and foremost about fun!  We look to provide exercise and enjoyment for our players.  Please bring a positive attitude each week.  While we may not be able to provide "high fives" this year, we will come up with a new way to cheer our excitement!

Your player's and family's safety is of the utmost importance to us.  We are looking to provide another enriching season as safe as possible for all of our players.

If anyone has any questions or concerns prior to the kick-off of our upcoming season, please do not hesitate to contact our TOPSoccer director, Program coordinator Rebecca Rizzo
